Maisha Mzuri Vocational Skilling

In Uganda, like many developing countries continue to face high levels of youth unemployment despite of having a youthful population with a significant percentage of its citizens under the age of 30, this demography presents both opportunities and challenges, as the youth represent a potential workforce and being agents of change. Vocational skilling equips young people with practical skills that are in demand in the job market, increasing their chances of finding gainful employment. These trainings are particularly beneficial for marginalized groups such as young women, refugees, and persons with disabilities, providing them with opportunities for economic empowerment and social inclusion with the skills needed to secure better-paying jobs or start their own businesses. This can have a ripple effect, improving living standards and reducing reliance on social welfare programs.
