The Accountant plays a vital role in supporting Wilmat Development Foundation’s mission by ensuring effective financial management, accountability, and transparency across all operations. This position involves managing day-to-day financial activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with both internal policies and external donor requirements.
The Accountant will provide financial oversight and contribute to the successful implementation of organizational and project budgets by tracking expenditures, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately, and assisting program staff in adhering to financial guidelines. In addition to core financial management, the Accountant will be responsible for providing financial advice and support to management, enhancing financial systems and controls, and preparing financial statements and donor reports. The role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to promoting sound financial stewardship across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all organizational transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors.
Manage statutory deductions, such as PAYE, NSSF, and local taxes, and ensure timely remittance to relevant authorities.
Manage cash flow and prepare bank reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Ensure compliance with local tax laws, donor regulations, and organizational financial policies.
Prepare and process staff payroll, suppliers and service providers while ensuring adherence to financial procedures.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and donor financial reporting guidelines and other assigned roles.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of donor financial reporting requirements is an added advantage.

The Project Officer will coordinate and implement two core programs at Wilmat Development Foundation: the Vocational Skilling Project under the Wilmat Skilling Facility and the Agriculture and Microfinance Programs. The role involves managing the planning, execution, and evaluation of training programs in vocational skills such as tailoring and hairdressing while also overseeing agricultural initiatives and microfinance activities to enhance the livelihoods of program beneficiaries.
The Project Officer will mobilize community members, monitor project performance, build partnerships, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. The role demands hands-on engagement with program participants, capacity building, and effective reporting to ensure that both programs deliver sustainable and impactful outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the day-to-day implementation of vocational skilling, agriculture, and microfinance programs.
Ensure program activities align with organizational goals and donor expectations.
Manage microfinance activities, including savings groups, credit systems, and financial literacy training.
Support bloc farming activities, organize farmer training, and ensure the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices.
Coordinate vocational training sessions in tailoring, hairdressing, and other skills, ensuring learners have access to materials and resources.
Organize and deliver training sessions on vocational skills, sustainable farming practices, and financial literacy.
Mobilize community members to participate in the skilling, agriculture, and microfinance programs and other roles.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Business Admin, Microfinance, Social Work or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience managing vocational skilling program, agricultural programs, OVC, or VSLAs/microfinance initiatives in a nonprofit or community setting.
- Strong knowledge of skills-based training, climate-smart agricultural practices, and group savings methodologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.

The Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing Wilmat Development Foundation’s communication strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility, promote its programs, and strengthen relationships with stakeholders. The officer will manage internal and external communications, including digital platforms, media relations and promotional materials, to ensure that Wilmat’s mission, programs, and impact are effectively communicated to target audiences.
This role will also involve creating compelling content, coordinating public relations campaigns, supporting fundraising efforts and maintaining consistency in Wilmat’s brand identity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with the foundation’s mission and goals.
- Write, edit, and design content for various communication channels, including newsletters, reports, brochures, press releases, blogs, and social media.
- Create high-quality multimedia content (videos, infographics, and photography) to highlight program activities and success stories.
- Maintain and regularly update Wilmat’s website and social media platforms to ensure timely and accurate information.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to increase coverage of Wilmat’s programs and activities.
- Develop communication tools to engage donors, partners, and beneficiaries, highlighting Wilmat’s impact in their communities.
- Support fundraising and advocacy efforts by creating promotional materials and storytelling content to inspire stakeholder support.
- Coordinate and promote Wilmat’s events, workshops, and campaigns to ensure maximum visibility and participation e.t.c.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a communications role, preferably in a nonprofit or development organization.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in social media management, content creation tools, and website management (e.g., WordPress).
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) is an added advantage.
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
Fluency in English (knowledge of local languages is an advantage).

Job Description: Agronomist Officer

The Agronomist Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring climate-smart agriculture initiatives at Wilmat Development Foundation. The role involves working with farmers through the Farmer Field Schools (FFS) approach, promoting bloc farming models, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices to improve productivity, food security, and environmental resilience. The officer will engage with smallholder farmers, provide technical expertise, organize training sessions, and ensure the adoption of innovative agricultural techniques for sustainable livelihoods.
The position requires a strong background in agronomy, practical experience in farmer engagement, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mobilize farmers to participate in Farmer Field Schools (FFS) and bloc farming activities.
- Conduct field demonstrations and training sessions on climate-smart agricultural practices, such as crop rotation, soil management, agroforestry, and water conservation.
- Support farmers in adopting climate resilient seeds, inputs and technologies to enhance productivity and sustainability.
- Establish and monitor bloc farms to showcase best practices and optimize collective farming models.
- Provide tailored training and mentoring to farmers on sustainable farming techniques and climate adaptation strategies.
- Strengthen farmer group dynamics, leadership, and decision-making to ensure the sustainability of Farmer Field Schools.
- Organize workshops and learning visits to encourage knowledge sharing among farmers and stakeholders.
- Regularly assess the performance of farmer groups, bloc farms, and other agricultural initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on crop yields, soil health, and climate adaptation outcomes.
- Work with local governments, agricultural extension officers, and community-based organizations to align activities with national and local agricultural strategies.
- Build partnerships with agribusinesses, suppliers, and buyers to support value chain development and market access for farmers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in agronomy, farmer training or implementing agricultural development programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of climate-smart agriculture practices, Farmer Field Schools and bloc farming models.

We are currently seeking Hairdressing Instructor (01) and Tailoring, Fashion, and Design Instructor (01) to join our dedicated team. As an Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in equipping our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen professions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION:
- Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions based on the set curriculum and training schedules.
- Demonstrate step-by-step processes for acquiring vocational skills in a clear and engaging manner.
- Provide personalized support to students to help them master skills effectively.
- Encourage creativity and innovation in the application of acquired skills.
- Assist in developing or refining training curricula and instructional materials to align with market demands.
